The Bangalore University, Bangalore was established in Bangalore City as a subsidiary of Mysore University in 1964. The university was started so as to include institutions of higher education located in the Bangalore city, rural Bangalore and Kolar districts.
Initially two premier institutes, the Central College (CC) and the University Vivesvaraya College of Engineering formed the nucleus of the Bangalore University. The Bangalore is the capital of Karnataka state of India; it is also called IT Capital of India.
